A LIVING SACRIFICE.

ROM 12:1 Says thus:

“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

A sacrifice is something you are willing to give out, to let go, to leave, to demote, to degrade, to reduce value, regardless of how special it may seem or look to you. It is usually a painful process (the process of letting go, loosing, sacrificing).

In our lives as humans, there are things we like, things that interests us, things we respond to  and relate with everyday of our lives, when we go out and come in. on the long run, we develop interest in them and begin to like them and even love them, so much so that a “bond” is formed between us and them (things), that it becomes difficult  to let go. It’s so special and so dear to you, that you are willing to do anything virtually, to ensure its safety or survival as the case may be.

Sometimes in life, circumstances may arise, where in you have to let go and such dearie things, animate or inanimate, physical or spiritual, human or animal, as the case may be, usually for what you have considered as a “greater good”. Now, it is called “sacrifice”;  when you let go despite your attachment or history with that thing.

A sacrifice is something that is also given out, let go in  order to gain something of a better quality and value. God sacrificed His son, so He could have more sons (children) like you and I.

Now, haven been reconciled with God, through Christ’s death, the ultimate sacrifice, our thanks to him, is living for Him everyday of our lives, by doing as He says and pleases, we do so in the Spirit and by the Spirit (Not by our own power or own wisdom(or understanding). But it ain't a smooth ride though, because the flesh (outer covering) requires certain  things for survival and certain things also which are against the laws of the Spirit, which will inhibit us from doing as He says i.e. living out lives for Him. This is where sacrifice comes in (ROM 12:1). The flesh lusts in the heart for what is has seen and touched. This creates a hindrance for the Spirits activities. This is where the line is drawn, labeled by the question – “Do you give your flesh what it wants and desires, against (i.e. to the detriment of, and let to suffer) the desires of the Spirit, i.e. the instructions of the Lord to you?.

Now, when you decide (choose) to ignore, to despise the fun and acquisitions and fame and fantasy, and all that you love and desire and hunger for, bringing the flesh, your body under subjection to the law of the Spirit, forcing it to obey the instructions of the Spirit, in serving the Lord, then you have SACRIFICED the flesh, your body (i.e. a living sacrifice), which is Holy and acceptable unto God. This is all we are here for, it is the only reasonable service He(God) accepts, that will be tried by fire and not burned.

His grace is sufficient for us. 

  By His grace, we will prevail, AMEN.

A LIVING WONDER BY THE WORD

By the word of God all things are framed and created and brought into existence, with all their attributes ( both living and non living things alike). They all have their attributes like appearances, color, weaknesses, strengths, manner of feeding(as regards living things), manner of survival, manner of what else there is about each created creature, all from words, the very word of God Himself. He said “Let there be” ……: you fill in the gap – (light, firmaments, birds of the air and all there is around us today). But believe you me, they had already been created before they were made visible (i.e. brought out to earth), where, in the mind of God: God simply spoke(out) what he had finished creating( in him, i.e. in his mind, His heart) into existence, into physical expression. Remember, He is the all powerful God – omnipotent, i.e. able to do all things( not some things, All things) and All things is simply ALL, there’s no interpretation to it). Now, this All powerful God was able to make His unseen creations, seen, by the word of His power. In other words, His spoken word activated, expressed, invoked the creative power of God, to make visible, the contents of the spoken word, so “let there be light” and VOILA! There it was; let there be this and that” and there they were; “let there be fishes in the sea” and there they were; and on and on.

Now dearie, you may say: “But when God said it(I mean when he started creating), it was like immediately and that’s why He finished creation in 6 days. But in our days, today, we say it, even when we have faith, but it takes some time, like hours or days or even weeks before we get what we spoke to God about, or what we declared or expect; why is that”.

Well, I agree with you there. Now “listen”. God is an eternal God, who dwells in eternity; he reigns from eternity to eternity. “ETERNITY” because “TIME” concept does not exist! – In eternity, there is no time (nothing like “the time factor”). If you can understand this truth (which I am currently praying that God gives you insight into), you will see why God ensures that we work by faith – just believing what you have said (and not doubting in your heart, one bit), and you shall have what you said.

“YOU SHALL HAVE WHAT YOU SAY”

Remember that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he/she”. That is why (for example, if you were in eternity, and think of something evil, instantly, you become it; say a murderer, or a thief; WHY, because, there is no “time” factor to elapse, to pass by before you become a thief). Think about why the devil was cast down with his followers from heaven.

In the same vein, when you speak a thing, instantly it comes to pass. What happens here on earth is that, under heaven, i.e. down here, we are bound by time, ok. Things are done in time, through time and with time. That is why the bible uses the words or phrases – “and it came to pass…”(talking about time elapsing or elapsed time)”. so here, God understands that we are under time, and it places a bit of a challenge to our faith, so He encourages us to “HAVE FAITH”, ask anything in the name of Jesus, believing that what we’ve asked for will surely come( as it would in eternity), and shall not doubt in our hearts, we shall have whatsoever we say, ok.

So when you get up to pray or make s decree or speak to something or make(or give) a command, for your favor or against the devil, that is doesn’t happen right away does not mean your prayer didn’t work, or that you don’t have enough faith – For Jesus said: “if you can have faith, the size of a mustard seed, you can say to a mountain…… and it will do as you say (Mark 11:23).

You see, God, as it were, doesn’t have to burden himself about overcoming the mindset that whatever you say takes effect immediately because He is an eternal God, who dwells where in eternity. So He just speaks, and that settles it, ok. Do you now see why He (God) is always seemingly on our necks, to trust Him and have and live by Faith. We are Gods children(Children of God), haven being adopted into his family. And understanding that like begets like, God wants us his children to act as His children, indeed his ambassadors on the earth.

We can and in fact, ought to live as “living wonders” here on earth, and in everything and everywhere we go. But due to ignorance(from lack of knowledge), we live short. You can live here on earth, walk and work about your endeavors, a living wonder by your words (what you say). Whenever you say what you want( by way of asking God for a request, or making a decree, or command as the case may be), don’t begin to act by sight(because what you’ve said doesn’t seem to show up yet or when you expect it to) – no! not so. Instead, understand that you’ve spoken a word as an eternal being(like God himself), you forget the issue like it never happened(not in pretence within yourself), and go on with your life, why because, you have an absolute belief, not doubting a bit in your heart, that what you’ve said is sure to emerge, and you will have what you said.

God wants to touch lives in a very unique manner, spanning from the young to the old and aged; He wants to show you that he is, has been and will always be interested in the affairs that concern you. No matter how things may be or seem or whatever you are going through, God is in the midst of it, he is right there with you and he will see you through.

            His Holy Words have always been preserved for our walk in this world. As we sojourn in this world, while fulfilling our purposes/destinies, at times it gets so overwhelming, what we have to do and achieve, where we have to go and how long we have to travel, what we have to pass through to get there; sometimes you know what you want or where you are going but you don’t just know how to get there; some of us might still be trying to find ourselves, as in trying to find and understand our purposes in life, we ask ourselves questions like “what am I doing here?” , “where am I headed to”, “what am I supposed to do or accomplish”,  we tell ourselves “I can’t be here just  wasting away and whiling away time”. There are some of us, I mean some of you that God won't allow to have rest of mind until you find your purpose.

            Wherever His Spirit leads you, either by spoken words or written words or revelation or any form at all, please do not hesitate to follow as instructed because that is where your glorious next level lies. God always says what he means and means what he says. Be of good cheer! You will win because He has won for you. You will pursue, overtake and recover all, Amen.

            Don’t give up. You are almost there.
